Pause And Resume

  1. I’ve been blogging since 2005 also (no breaks). I think we may have first met (or at least I remember seeing your name) through Michele Agnew’s meet and greet or Naomi Caryl’s blog. I miss Naomi’s blog presence, but she still comments on my blog on rare occasions. I haven’t gone through as many changes as you but have had to refine things to keep the blog something that works for me. Mostly it’s my writer’s filing cabinet/journal. I have always mixed it up with photography, poetry, writing and it’s always been personal. My favorite writing genre is memoirs. I think of it as my own magazine that I post a variety too. So I like the mix you are presenting in this blog and I think it’s one that can be sustainable. Blogs aren’t as popular as when we first started. Using blog link-ups, photography memes and things like Thirteen Thursday help create some traffic. I also have readers from my town but they don’t tend to comment.

    1. Yes, I think it’s between Michele’s Meet and Greet or Naomi! I do miss Naomi and I hope she’s doing fine. The one thing that somehow dampened my blogging routine was Facebook and Instragram. All these microblogging can be so distracting.

Same here with readers from the same town, but usually don’t tend to comment.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your blog experience! I have been blogging since 2012, and have stuck with Blogger. To be honest, I did try WordPress but found it too tedious so I didn’t bother. I like Blogger’s sleek surface and since I don’t know HTML, it is easy for me to be able to do my blog posts. From the beginning I wanted to be able to offer something where people would feel happy to visit. I decided to share things that I enjoy, like most people do on their blogs. I thought that sharing positive and uplifting quotes, art and videos that people would come to spend some fun time. Perhaps my posts would touch their hearts, make them think, laugh, smile, maybe even shed a few tears, but my goal was to make them see the beautiful and positive side of life that we just don’t see often enough. When we look at the news, we rarely see happy things, so I just wanted to create a balance where people would come to relax, to enjoy…to just be, and leave with a good feeling to start or end their day. Away from the chaotic pressures of life. I enjoy your blog and appreciate all that you share. Thank you!

    1. I really like your blog’s format and I love the collection of poems, videos and quotes. They’re quite uplifting. Your blog is go-to when one is feeling blue :)

  3. Writing, cooking, fashion, travel and photography sounds like a great topic combination – and one I’ve no doubt you won’t get tired of blogging about!
