Spring the season of new beginnings. Out with the old and in with the new as what people usually say. In a way it’s like a New Year’s resolution 2.0. Still, every year I always do something small or sometimes bigger things (when I feel quite ambitious) for the sake of self-improvement. Change is constant and changing for the better is what I always strive for. The key word for this year’s spring cleaning is emancipation.
Our home is like a constant work in progress. Once or twice a month, I have this insatiable need to optimise our space by moving furniture around to my husband’s frustration.
After making some slight adjustments in our living area, I managed to organise our closet too!
I moved most of the t-shirts/shirts inside the drawers and fold them like a file. It’s neat and it gives me a good overview of what I have at a glance.
I’ve changed my routine as well as my diet (albeit slowly since I have a sweet tooth!). I call this my COW TO WOW 2.0. I have like over two months to go before our summer arthritis vacation and since we’re visiting my birth place, I need to have this homecoming queen body material!
Made a huge spring cleaning in this department. I got rid of religion and the notion of god or gods in my system. I grew up in a religious family and community and there’s only one thing I could say, it’s bollocks! In my humble opinion, it makes us dumb. Now, I put my faith in myself, my own potential and in our fellow human beings. A really good person is someone that chooses to be good not because of a threat of eternal damnation or the rewards of heaven.
Of course, people can believe what they want, but it should be private. Your beliefs should not interfere or hinder other people’s lives.
It took me a while, but now I’m not afraid to burn bridges. I learned that a relationship is like a bank. If you don’t invest in it then you get nothing in return.
What’s your spring cleaning plan?
I’m digging this new song from Cheat Codes featuring Demi Lovato called No Promises!
