Alanya, a city in Turkey bustling with tourists and merchants alike. Once a wedding gift to Cleopatra from Mark Anthony before it became a city of pirates and now a tourists’ haven or trap. Still, the city retained its pirate roots in the form of almost every store we’ve seen were selling fake items. Replicas of designer labels from Armani to Versace blatantly displayed on the streets was quite a surreal sight.
If you looked past the fake designer stuff or the nagging touts, Alanya has lots to offer. Beautiful beaches that stretch for miles, delicious food and great hospitality. We loved it!
